The Leaders' Debates Commission conducts research on best practices related to debates on an ongoing basis, consulting with debate organizers from around the world, including in Australia, France, Germany, the United States, Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

The Commission also consults with experts and academics who focus on, and research issues related to democracy, polling, and debates.

This ongoing research helps to:

1. inform our decisions,
2. improve the debates going forward, and
3. ensure they better serve the public interest.
